Hi y'all, not sure where to ask this but could we add a section under people's bios for "ethnicity" or "race/ethnicity"? Nationality refers to citizenship (i.e. American, Canadian, etc.), while ethnicity refers to cultural background (i.e. Filipino, Chinese), and race refers to phenotypic markers that society has deemed significant (i.e. Black, Asian, white, etc.). I just wanted to point this out because there only seems to be a section for "nationality", meaning a lot of people have their ethnicity listed under their nationality. For example, Alfredo's nationality is listed as Mexican, Filipino, Chinese, and African American, when really I'm pretty sure his nationality is.... American. I just want to point this out because I think this sort of thing erases one's American identity and makes it seem like BIPOC can never truly be "American". And I think it would just be great to use the vocabulary appropriately. Thank you!
